168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Yakuza: Like A Dragon may be different than its predecessors, but a lot of the weird ma♈gic that has left players charmed for almost two decades now returns full-blast. From saving a persimmon from a practicing sumo wrestler to getting clothes for someone only conceale🅺d by bubbles, the whacky factor is top-notch in this game.

On that oddball humor note, there are also some things that don’t make sense. The series has always had a juxtaposition between serious stories and weird comedy, but they usually play off each other well. It can sometimes mess with continuity though, so let’s get these few things out of the way just for argument's sake.

Nothing is off-limits in the story, so there will be some spoilers.

Updated August 16, 2022 by Dan Christmann: Yakuza: Like A Dragon is weird on multiple levels. It's weird for a series known for its fighting game mechanics to pivot into JRPG territory, weird because of Ichiban's imagination, and weird just because it's a Yakuza game. Though it seemed like a risk for the developers, time has shown that Yakuza: Like A Dragon's madcap energy is an asset, and draws new players in rather than driving them away.

Now on Xbox Game Pass and soon heading to PlayStation Plus, Ichiban's bizarre quest through Japan's criminal underworld is arguably more accessible than ever before. And, while these moments still don't make much sense, that's part of the game's charm. They might make a continuity stickler frown, but they are what make Yakuza Yakuza, with all its bumps and wrinkles.

13 Yokohama's Numerous Twins

In most JRPGs, you're going to fight a lot of enemies that look pretty similar. Usually, no one bats an eye — we expect a slime to look like a slime, and if Tonberries looked any different from one another, how could you tell? You're probably too terrified to notice, as they advance upon you with their chef's knife raised above their head.

But Yakuza: Like A Dragon is set in a real city, where you fight real humans — who, theoretically, should all look different. Instead, Ichiban and his pals face off against a ton of guys who look exactly the same, down to their clothes. It's weird enough punching out a set of triplets in a single fight, but doing it again in the next two fights? Either Yokohama's fertility rate is astounding, or something's going on with Ichiban's imagination.

12 The Man Who Runs Out Of Toilet Paper Five Times 🍒

We've all been there. You go into a public restroom, start doing your business, and look down to see that no one's replaced the roll. Hijinks ensue. Maybe you pull up your pants and waddle over to an unoccupied stall. Or, maybe you ask a random stranger looking to be a hero to help you out.

But, in Yakuza: Like A Dragon, there's a guy to who this happens five times. What's more, there's only one place in the city where you can get him his much-needed wiping paper: Kan-san's Recycling Shop. This means that, canonically, this unfortunate man is either the world's most unlucky person, or a small recycling place has a stranglehold on the city's toilet paper supply.

11 ✱ P🙈aying Nancy-Chan

Yakuza Like a dragon Nancy Chan Summon

Of all the madcap sidequests that you'll undertake in Yakuza: Like A Dragon, rescuing Nancy the Crawfish ranks pretty highly on the weird-o-meter. However, if you find this beloved crustacean for her owner and convince him not to eat her, you'll get a valuable ally in the fight against your enemies — Nancy-chan herself will join the ranks of your available summons.

The weirdest part about Nancy-chan, though, is not that you can call her and her friends up to pinch your enemy's noses off. Instead, it's that you have to pay her for the effort. Of course, it's important to compensate your employees for their work, but what's a crayfish going to do with 1,000 yen? Buy a tiny suit? Ok, scratch that. Maybe you should be paying Nancy more, because that would be adorable.

10 The Baby Locker ♒

At the beginning of his life, Masato Arakawa's parents left him in the locker of Shinjuku railway station. The time he spent in the cold caused Masato's lifelong fragility, and it's his disability that drives many of his actions throughout the game.

Here’s the thing. Why didn’t anyone hear the baby crying and get a worker to check on the locker? Especially since he wasn't the only baby in those lockers at the time? Shinjuku Station is the most used railway station in the world. How is it that no one noticed earlier?

9 ꧙ Masato Suddenly Walking ꩲ

Speaking of Masato, there's a moment early on in the game where he injects himself with ephedrine, which allows him to walk for a while. This fulfills a great wish for him, but it’s a bit strange that no one seems to notice. Presumably, he frequents the club a lot, so people should know by now about his disability.

Masato even says before injecting himself 🃏that he wanted to see his girlfriend’s surprise when he could walk — but there isn’t a scene like that. That whole drug plot takes a while to wrap up in general, but, strangely, no one seems to bat an eye.

8 🦩 Bathroom Secrets

Why do people always divulge their secrets in the bathroom? This isn’t a problem that pertains solely to Yakuza: Like A Dragon. It's pretty common in every form of media, where people never seem to check stalls to make sure the coast is clear before mouthing off about top secret information.

In this case, Ichiban and Masato can learn about the plot to investigate the Yakuza in the hostess club. They just slip♒ into the stall and listen to two people spill their secrets. If only real detective work were so easy.

7 𓃲 Money Mysteries ไ

Early on in Yakuza: Like A Dragon, Ichiban falls asleep outside on a bench on New Year’s Eve. 🐎The next day he finds out his🦄 wallet has been stolen. Fear not, though, intrepid reader. If you check the menu, all of your money is still there. This happens again when someone shoots him and leaves him for dead, too.

It's a minor point, but it's an odd juxtaposition between the game’s story and game mechanics. Still, it's hard to complain. If you're going to get mugged, not losing anything is probably the best outcome.

6 💧 Phone Charger 𝐆

When Ichiban first gets to Yokohama, former police officer and professional entomaphobe Koichi reprimand🦋s him for not responding to his calls. That’s when Ichiban makes his excuses, saying he couldn’t answer because his phone was dead and he had no charger.

Except he totally could. As the player, you've probably been fiddling around on your phone the entire time. It’s another one of those story examples that doesn’t fit the gameplay.

5 😼 Not Leveling Up In Prison

Spending two decades in prison means that you have a lot of time to think, plot, and tꦅrain. You have all the time in the world to make yourself ready for the day you burst past the bars, prepared to take on your enemies.

Except Ichiban doesn't seem to see it that way. Rather than leveling up, or improving himself at all, he just seems to go into stasis for the entire time. Maybe he was too busy daydreaming about Dragon Quest to learn how to do a thousand pushups.

4 💞 No Input From Party On Side Quests

You're the leader of your small crew, sure, but it'd be nice to have some input from others. Being all muscle and imagination has its perks, but there are definitely times when Ichiban needs some help in the intellectual department

Unfortunately, most of your party keeps mum during side quests. From a design perspective, it makes sense, but from a world-building perspective, it is a little jarring. What is everyone doing when Ichiban is trying to find toilet paper for the Man Awaiting Salvation? And why don't they comment on how weird it is that he keeps running out?
