168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ryuji Goda was introduced in Yakuza 2 as the main villain, instigating a war against the Tojo Clan that would ultimately lead to his death. Or at least, that's what fans thought.

Developer Ryu ga Gotoku is opening an exhibit on December 30 that memorialises "the fallen men" of th♒e Yakuza series, such as Akira Nishikiyama and Masato Arakawa. Oddly, Ryuji is nowhere to be found.

While Ryuji died in Yakuza 2, he appeared in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dead Souls and Like a Dragon Gaiden🍰, two non-canon spin-offs.

It's likely just a mistake, rather than a purposeful omission setting up the next Yakuza game, but fans have run with Ryuji's absence to mean that he survived his death and has been hiding this whole time.

"HOLY SH*T RYUJI'S ALIVE," @msmarquise8 said. "HE'S NOT HERE AT ALL. RYUJI IS ALIVE!!!!!"

"I'm taking the lack of Ryuji in this to prove he's alive," @Razorflame45 said, a little more calmly.

Memorial or not, fans have speculated that Ryuji faked his death for a while now. Only ten months ago, on the series' dedicated subreddit, one fan piled together all the evidence they could find on his survival - it's not a lot, but it's enough to cling onto.

"This dude didn't even have a ghost picture in Yakuza 6, we weren't shown what happened to his body afterwards, and is one of the only villains who isn't in pieces, in jail, or obliterated," . "I'm sure he's alive."

In the comments, some fans even 🍎expressed the belief that Ryuji would return in a later game, using Dead Souls as proof that he faked his death. If he was still around in an alternate universe, surely that means he is in the main one?

One of my followers pointed out that Ryuji isn't here like AT ALL... RGG what y'all tryna say? 🤨 - @naiokenx10

Throw in the mysterious absence in the memorial and maybe they were onto something after all. But rather than coming back, what if he's just enjoying the peaceful retired life that keeps evading Kiryu?

While Ryuji fans are excited at the mere idea of him still being alive, there is another side to this memorial's coin - it confirms that Yoshitaka Mine is dead.

That might seem obvious given he... jumped off an incredibly tall skyscraper, but fans have been holding onto hope nonetheless. Maybe he should've held onto a ledge, eh?

"I guess this is confirmation that Mine is really dead," @_Li🦄keA🤡Gamer_ put it. I guess we never heard a splat, so fair enough.
