In fact, having acquired the TV and movie rights for the series, it appears Legendary has plans for multiple live-actio🃏n Street Fighter projects should all go to plan. revealed brothers Michael and Danny Philippou have been selected by Legendary to direct its first Street Fighter project. Best known for their comedy and horror shorts on YouTube, the duo does have a little bit of very recent experience when it comes to heading up feature-length movies. Horror film Talk To Me which debuted at this year's Sundance and will hit theaters on July 28.

You may well be reading all of this wondering why on earth Legendary appears to have rolled the dice on a couple of YouTuber-turned-directors for what is going to be a presumably massive project. Not to mention the Philippou brothers' lack of experience when it comes to directing anything in the style of what a Street Fighter movie presumably needs to be. Even though Talk To Me is firmly a horror movie, it includes a number of high-paced action sequences not commonly associated with the genre. The sort of intensity that will likely slot right into a Street Fighter movie directed by the two. Legendary will have seen that, and the pair's work on RackaRacka, and decided they're the ones they want to helm its first Street Fighter movie. Not to mention Michael has done a little real-life fighting of his own, competing on the undercard of the Logan Paul vs. KSI bout.

This isn't the first time the series has been given the adaptation treatment. Jean-Claude Van Damme played Guile in a very '90s Street Fighter movie, one that was nowhere near as well received as the first 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mortal Kombat film released a year later. Street Fighter has waited for its fighting series rival to make the first move this time, following in its footsteps after Mortal Kombat rebooted its movie arm in 2021.
