If the card gets sent to the Graveyard that turn, then during the end phase, you can send one Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged-Beast card from your hand, or preferably the field, to the Graveyard to bring him right back.
Back in the day, this was infamously used in combination with Card of Safe Return to deliver consistent OTKs. Manticore does see play in Goat format, but the main reason it's probably so high in price is its look. It's one of the best-looking ultras in the set with the monster's roar pose and sweet background.

While Strike Ninja isn't one of the best cards in Invasion of Chaos, it is one of the coolest. Strike Ninja is a 1700 ATK level four monster with quite an oddball effect. During either player's turn, by removing two dark monsters in your Graveyard from play, Strike Ninja just gets out of there for the remainder of the turn.
You definitely have to think hard about how to use this effect well. Strike Ninja was used by Duke Devlin in the anime, but the core reason the price is so high is that it looks sick. The artwork it🅰self, with the Ninja moving almost in a blur, combined with 🧸the ultra-rare foiling, makes it the best-looking ultra in the set.
6 Wild Nature's Release (SR) - $7.90
Strike Ninja had an oddball effect, but this spell card is more straightforward. Wild Nature's Release is a simple ATK boost spell. You target one Beast or Beast-Warrior monster on the field, and it gains ATK equal to its DEF.
During the end phase, this monster will blow up if it isn't already destroyed. This card seems oddly high priced at first until you realize it's used in Cyber-Stein OTK decks in Goat format. You can run three copies in that deck, so that's likely why it's so expensive for a super rare.
5 Dark Magician Of Chaos (UR) - $13.10 🍎
The first legendary and infamous card of many in this set is Dark Magician of Chaos. Its ability to add spell cards to your hand from the grave, which was originally not a once-per-turn effect, was largely why i🥂t got banned and stayed that way for so long.
Two strong cards in Invasion of Chaos ended up getting an errata, and DMOC was the first in 2015. This nerfed him quit🔥e a bit in the current day, but he is limited to one in Goat format with his original effect. DMOC is an iconic card in the game and worth some money, but not as much as the two strongest monsters.
4 🦄 Dark Mirror Forc🦄e (UR) - $14.99
Mirror Force has to be one of the most iconic traps in all of Yu-Gi-Oh! and one of the most valuable cards in Metal Raiders. It's fitting that the same can be said for Dark Mirror Force in IOC.
This card is slightly different than normal Mirror Force in that when your opponent declares an attack; it banishes all defense position monsters instead of destroying all attack position ones. Dark Mirror Force isn't very useful, but it looks awesome, and that's likely why it's worth so much. The dark blast is rather striking with the ultra-rare foiling here and does look cooler than the standard Mirror Force.

On top of that, the opponent takes 300 burn damage for each card sent to the Graveyard by the effect.
It's incredibly powerful on its own, but when used in tandem with another infamous card Yata-Garasu, Yu-Gi-Oh! players simply had enough. Both Chaos Emperor Dragon and Yata were among the first banned cards. Envoy of the End's historical significance and amazing secret rare look make it the most valuable card in IOC.
