Speedrunning is no easy task, and "abhorrently difficult" is a better term to describe the challenge presented with some of these titles. Now that we're sitting at almost 35 years of Zelda games, which ones ༺have become notorious for giving speedrunners a run for their ꦿmoney?

10 The L🌟egend Of Zelda 💃

It might seem odd for an NES game to be at the top of the list, but The Legend of Zelda is one of the simpler runs in the series. Debuting on such limited hardware, the simplistic and straightforward gamep🔯lay doesn't leave too much room for complex sequence breaks or glitches and instead relies heavily on 🧜the players' skill level.

An effective runner of the original Zelda needs a solid grasp on the unforgiving combat system and memorization of dungeons and item locations t🧔o achieve the current world record times of under half an hour.

Link's Awakening has quite a lengthy speedrunning history spanning three different iterations of the title, but we'll be focusing on the newly released Switch version. 2D Zeldas are ultimately less glitch-heavy than their 3D counterparts, but Link's Awakening has some pretty complex and hilarious glitches.

Most of the uses of glitches contain some kind of clip onto an upper layer of the map you're not normally supposed to reach, allowing a lot of skipped areas and shortcuts. This game remains interesting to watch as all dungeons are still completed🙈 in some f💙ashion to complete the game in just over an hour.

zelda II gameplay

Most fans refer to Zelda II as "tha✅t one", and it remains one of the most underplayed and forgotten games in the series. As far as sp🍃eedrunning goes, however, there are plenty of players who have whittled the game down to below 20 minutes.

Similarly to the original, Zelda II is heavily reliant on skillful play and knowledge of the map, although with some pretty weird glitches. Zelda II is infamously one of the harder Zelda games ever, and speedruns of this game confidently fo𒊎llow suit.

A Link To The Past is one of the few games in the series to have an absolutely mind-bogglingly broken any% run that can be completed in under an astounding 2 minutes. We'll be discussing the categories with restricted glitches to make things eas🌱ier.

A Link To The Past has 🍷far more glitchy potential than the first two games, and runners will be frequently utilizing various wall clips and sequence breaks throughout ♌the run. The runs for this game are fairly short as well, making for a respectfully challenging time.

6 Breath Of The Wild 𝓀

As soon as the developers mentioned the ability for playꦚers to go straight to Ganon after leaving the Great Plateau, the speedrunning community knew that this game was absolutely perfect for it. Through the use of various wall clips and flying across the entire map at high speeds, the game can be completed in under half a꧋n hour.

This speedrun can be quite tricky, as the runner will need to be confident in their ability to clip into shrines, use a technique to launch Link across Hyrule and be able to manipulate enemy AI and fight six versions of Ganon wi♚thout taking 💞damage.

5 💫Majora's Mask

The second 3D Zelda adventure isn't quite as broken as the previous title, but it has plenty of difficult techniques to earn it a completion time of under half an hour. Since it uses the same engine as Ocarina of Time, many of the saꦐme glitches still remain here such as super sliding and bomb hovering.

The latter half of the any% run is particularly harrowing, as super precise and complex manipulation of the game's code is required to warp straight from Deku Palace to the Moon. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:All Masks and 100% categories are quite difficult as well, as you can imagine from the𒉰 sheer amount of t🐭hings to remember.

4 Skywa🅠rd Sword ☂

For the longest time, Skyward Sword was thought to be "unbreakable" by many in the speedrunning community. The game's incredible length also made it a less ideal game t𒁏o run, as times upwards𓆉 of 5 hours were commonplace.

However, Skyward Sword has become increasingly cracked open in recent years, and can now be completed in just over 2 hours. The game's꧟ most infamous glitches are "back in time" and "reverse bit magic", both being extremely complex g🎃litches that will take hours of practice to get down. Motion controls also don't help, unsurprisingly.

3 Ocarina of Time ๊ 📖

Ocarina of Time is u🏅ndoubtedly 💖one of the most popular games to speedrun, period. The game has come an extremely long way since its release, and the game has somehow been shortened to under 10 minutes, warping from Kokiri Forest straight to the end credits, something that runners never could have imagined.

The glitches performed to achieve runs in any category are very complicated and will take hours of practice to learn, but with Ocarina being such a popular speedrಌunning game there are tons of tutorials available to learn this fan-favorite title.

2  Tw🌠ilight Princess ✱

This is the point where Zelda speedruns start to go off the rails and show just how much time and effort is required to beat these games as quickly as possible. Released on the GameCube in 2006, Twilight Princess is one of𒈔 the longest games in the series, making for a lengthy, grueling run.

There are a ton of glitches to utilize including back-in-time, sword and shield skip, early Master Sword, early City in the Sky, and some movement tech with items. These glitches end up being pretty challenging to pull off, and Twilight Princess is pretty far from beginner-friendly.

1 The Wind Waker ⛄

This game has one of the most interesting, mind-blowing, and complex speedrunning histories of all time. From the very beℱginning on Outset Island, you're tasked with swimming across the entire map with a frame-perfect, labor-intensive, massively complicated technique known as super-swimming.

It only gets increasingly arduous from there, as there are glitches storing game information for specific manipulations, tons of clips and skips, and literally allocating specific KILOBYTES of memory to make certain things happen. Getting into this speedrun seems impossible to newcomers, as there are only a few people in the world tha🦹t can consistently pull it off.
