There’s no shortage of zombie survival gꦫames in which you have to scavenge, build shelter, and survive against hordes of the undead. However, not too many of those games can be described as being Stardew Valley-like. Thankfully, game developer G1 Playground and publisher Super.com are here to fill that void with Zelter - a post-zombie-apocalypse crafting and survival sim that on October 22, 2020.

Zelter takes a rather cute, pixelated approach to the zombie apocalypse, featuring an in-game crafting and management system that will keep you busy for hours. You’ll start out as a survivor who is simply trying to make it to the next෴ day alive, but as you gather resources, craft weapons, build up your base, and recruit other members to your group, not only will you be able to survive the zombie hordes, you’ll actually be able to thrive.

As you develop your ba🔯se of operations, you’ll be able to fill it with farms and other means of food production, as well as build up the base’s defense system itself - which will undoubtedly be needed for when you return from exploring the surrounding📖 area or going on supply (loot) runs, likely bringing a trail of zombies back with you.

Of course, these sorts of survival mechanics aren’t anything new to the genre. What sets Zelter apart is its top-down, pixelated design showing a refreshingly light-hearted depiction𒁃 of the end of the world. That said, you can still expect plenty of the gory goodness that you might expect from a zombie game. The weꦰapons you’ll eventually gain access to seem to do quite a number on any zombies encountered.

G1 Playground is already developing Zelter with  for the game's direction. The studio will no doubt continue this trend well into Early Access, using player feedback to make the game as go🥀od as it can be for its full launch, which is yet to be revealed.

Zelter will launch on Steam Early Access on O🐽ctober 22, 2020.
