Zombie Army 4: Dead War, the latest in Rebellion's increasingly bonkers Sniper Elite spin-off, is right around the corner. Launching the same day as the co-op shooter is a snazzy collector's edition with a bunch of fun littl🦩e bells and whistles, along with a centerpiece figurine that any sensible person would want in their home.

Rebellion was kind enough to provide us with an advance copy of this collector's edition, so ♍today, we'll be taking a bite out of this charm𝐆ing package.

"Shot Through The Mouth/And You're To Blame"

First things first - the packaging. Zombie Army 4 comes in an attractive and sturdy box that's a bit different from your standard collector's edition. As a girl who's bought her fair share of limited editions, I'm used to there being a flimsy cardboard piece of garbage that encases the rest of the package, prone to creasing and destined for the trash can. But that isn't the case with this, uh, case. This thing is thick and durable, and feels like somethin♕g that can comfortably survive a move.

Not only that, but the packaging itself is attractive enough to display on a shelf. The interior features a gorgeous piece of comic art - an illustration that looks like it would be right at home in Rebellion's own 2000 A.D. As seen above, it features a🐈 Nazi getting sniped right in the noggin, as he sho🌄uld be.

The only good Nazi, after all, is a dead Nazi.

"What's In The Box?"

For just under a h♈undred bucks, you get a nice smattering of content with this package.

First of all, you get the game itself in an attra🤡ctive steelbook. The design on the case is delightfully minimalist, with a beautiful illustration depicting a Nazi zombie atop a satanic throne emblazoned on the front, and a simple rendering of Rebellion's iconic logo on the back.

You also get your hands on a nice 60-page artbook that features character designs, concept art, the unique posters for each location of the game, and a bunch of other stuff. It's a nice little paperback piece that gives you an up close and personal look at all the clever design work that went into the game. While I'm more partial to hardback artbooks, I can't complain too much when the actual content of this book is pretty wonderful. Rebellion is known for their beautiful, gruesome designs in both their games and in 2000 A.D., and🅺 this little book pಞacks a big punch of their signature style.

There's also a handful of digital content. The package includes a code for a sampling of the game's music, as well as a DLC unlock code for Hector - a playable undead pilot. It's a nice little offering, and a full characte🍬r unlock is nothing to sneeze at.

"Shark's In The Salsa. Our Shark."

But the real reason one would buy this thing is the aforementioned centerpiece. Folks, if you like sharks, you like zombies, and you like collectible plastic trinkets, the Zombie Army 4 Coꦉllector's Editi🌊on has got you covered. And considering I love all three of those things, I'm quite smitten with this gorgeous, gory girl.

That's right, the biggest selling point of Zombie Army 4 (for me, anyway) has been immortalized in a very pretty statue. The zombie shark comes in a retro-style box not dissimilar to old GI Joe toys, a🃏nd is packaged with the pictured stand so yo😼u can show her off in all her glory.

The sculpt quality on this thing is truly amazing, and h꧅ead and shoulders above the usual iffy, off-model toys that are packaged in with collector's editions. Every bone on her ribcage, every piece of gristle on her teeth, every oozing bit of bloody innards are all sculpted and painteཧd with a loving attention to detail. Rebellion didn't need to go this hard on the cute, chomp-y gal as they did, but I'm glad they did. This is absolutely a statue that will live on my desk for a while to come, probably with an anime girl of some sort getting eaten by her.

(Un)dead And Loving It

The Zombie Army 4: Dead War Collector's Edition retails for $99.99 USD, and if this is a game you're looking forward to in any capacity, this is a package worth considering. Collector's editions are so, so often hit or miss for me, even for series I enjoy like Persona or Soulcalibur. I'm a pretty big Rebellion fangirl, and I'm thoroughly thrilജled with𒁏 this package.

Zombie Army 4: Dead War drops February 4th for 🌊PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and༒ PC.
